Beans and plantain porridge can be cooked in different ways, but this depends on individual taste and preference; this recipe can be prepared with palm oil or without palm oil.

Ingredients of Porridge beans and plantain
- Prepare of Beans.
- You need of Onions.
- You need of Fresh pepper.
- Prepare of Palm oil.
- It's of Seasoning.
- Prepare of Plantain.
- You need of Vegetable oil for frying.
This delicious meal is usually made with unripe plantain, however, you can use a combination of ripe and unripe plantain, most people do this in other to achieve a faint sugary taste. When the beans porridge is soft, add the onions, crayfish (if using it), pepper and seasoning. As a child, I loved beans like kilode. Beans featured in our menu once a week.
Porridge beans and plantain step by step
- Wash beans and put in the pot to cook for an hour.
- Parboil by removing water and put back in the pot.
- Add onions and water and leave to get more soft.
- Add fresh pepper, palm oil and seasoning. Cover so the water can get dry,break the beans with a wooden spatula and allow to simmer. Your dish is ready..
- Slice plantain and deep fry in hot oil.
